Meet the team

James West
CHIROPRACTOR
James achieved a distinction upon graduating and was shortlisted for “New Chiropractor of the Year Award” by the British Chiropractic Association. He has since worked in clinics in Kent and South London before joining the team in New Malden. He sees a wide variety of patients of all ages and has great results getting them back to pain-free living. He also has a passion for treating sports injuries and is on the medical team for a semi-professional football club as well as working towards a post-graduate qualification in sports chiropractic.
His treatments, alongside hands-on chiropractic care, focus on helping patients understand why they may be in pain, as well as using personalised exercise programmes to help them achieve their goals. In order to help him do this, James has completed internships with multiple experts in the pain management and rehabilitation field.
Outside of practice, James enjoys playing team sports such as basketball, going to the gym and playing the guitar.

Stephanie Birtig
CHIROPRACTOR and PILATES INSTRUCTOR
Stephanie treats a variety of muscle and joint conditions involving the spine and the whole body. She enjoys working with patients of all backgrounds and ages, regardless of their experience with movement or chiropractic care. Stephanie utilises a combination of soft tissue therapies, joint mobilisation and manipulation, taping and rehabilitation that will help to get you moving, functioning at your best, and assist you in meeting your goals.
Originally from Toronto, Canada, Stephanie has a background in dance, performing arts and fitness. She is a certified classical Pilates teacher, trained in New York City and she has worked for almost 10 years as a registered nurse, mainly practicing at emergency departments in both Toronto and New York City.

Dominic Metcalfe
CHIROPRACTOR
Dom founded the clinic in New Malden in 1982 and moved it to its present site in 1998. He has mentored a number of chiropractic associates over this time and has seen the clinic grow into the thriving healthcare centre that it is today. In over 42 years of practice he has personally helped over 20,000 different patients in the area and has a wealth of experience in spinal conditions.

Nick Metcalfe
CHIROPRACTOR
Nick has been the owner of the clinic since 2015. He owns another clinic in Staines-upon-Thames and works two days a week with Premier League side Brentford FC. You can read more about his experience in sport here.
Nick treats the whole body, not just the spine. In clinic, he enjoys treating a wide range of patients of all ages and activity levels. He uses a range of treatment techniques including joint manipulation, soft tissue release techniques, acupuncture, taping and rehabilitation exercises. His aim is to reduce any pain, improve your flexibility and make you robust again.

Laura Phillips
SPORTS AND PREGNANCY MASSAGE
Laura is passionate about her work and loves what she does. She graduated with a Sports Science degree and went on to qualify as a Sports Massage and Remedial soft tissue therapist with NLSSM. Laura has experience working with a wide range of clients including elite athletes, those with a disability and in corporate settings. She is also qualified in Pregnancy massage. Laura uses a wide variety of advanced techniques including myofascial release, soft tissue release and trigger point therapy, adapting each treatment to the client in front of her.
Laura has been the lead therapist for Thames Rowing club for 5 years supporting the athletes through training, camps and competition, and used row competitively herself.

Luke Honey
SPORTS MASSAGE
Luke is a dedicated massage therapist who is passionate about the preventative and recovery benefits of massage, not only in the scope of sports injury, but in everyday life.
Prior to studying massage therapy, Luke worked in physically demanding environments, where injury was commonplace. It was this first-hand experience, seeing how massage can help with injury recovery, injury prevention and mental well-being, that prompted his studies.
Luke originally trained in holistic massage therapy at St Mary’s University, before gaining his Level 3 and 4 Sports massage qualifications. He has worked as as a Sports massage therapist in clinics in Surrey and South-West London. He is currently furthering his training at St Mary’s alongside his work in private practice.
Luke is a member of the SMA (The Association for Soft Tissue Therapists) and employs a range of therapeutic approaches within his treatments including, muscle energy techniques, trigger point therapy, soft tissue release, myofascial release, and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation.

Naomi Wallen
SPORTS MASSAGE
Naomi will be on Maternity leave from December 2023
Naomi is a lively, energetic person with a real passion for sports. She graduated with a degree in sports therapy and now focuses on treating, rehabilitating and preventing sport and occupational injuries to a wide range of people of all ages and abilities. She provides a hands on service with a multitude of advanced techniques including: deep tissue massage, soft tissue release, neuromuscular technique and muscle energy techniques. She is also a personal trainer so well placed to offer specific exercise advice in addition to sports massage.

Laura Metcalfe
GROUP PRACTICE AND FINANCE DIRECTOR
Laura worked as a Chiropractor in clinics throughout Central and South West London and Surrey before stepping into her current role. Passionate about the provision of high quality, professional healthcare, she manages our teams in the two clinics and oversees the day-to-day operations. She is also responsible for handling the financial and regulatory aspects of the business and holds an MBA in addition to her Masters in Chiropractic. Laura is a member of the General Chiropractic Council’s Professional Conduct Committee.
