NICK MEtcalfe
CLINICAL DIRECTOR
Nick is an experienced chiropractor with a specialist interest in sports injury, performance, and long-term musculoskeletal health. In addition to nearly a decade of work with professional football clubs, he regularly treats chronic back and joint conditions and supports a wide range of patients in staying active and pain-free.
Professional background
Nick graduated with distinction from the Health Sciences University in Bournemouth in 2008 and has been the owner and lead chiropractor at New Malden Chiropractic Clinic since 2014. He comes from a multi-generational family of healthcare professionals, including several chiropractors, a GP, and a veterinary surgeon. He is also the founder of Staines Chiropractic Clinic and currently works between both clinics and as a sports chiropractic consultant and performance therapist for private clients, teams and clubs.

HIS APPROACH TO Care
Nick’s approach in the clinic is based on understanding how the whole body moves and functions. He uses functional testing before and after treatment to monitor progress and inform personalised treatment plans.
Drawing from his experience in sport, Nick applies “return to play” protocols to all patients—where the ‘play’ element could be getting back to kneeling in the garden, running a 5K, getting through a workday pain-free, or doing the school run. He works closely with each individual to ensure treatment is relevant, measurable, and aligned with their personal goals.
CLINICAL FOCUS
Nick has a specialist interest in sports performance and injury rehabilitation, with extensive experience in both amateur and elite-level sport. He has worked for nearly a decade in professional football with Fulham FC and Brentford FC as the consultant chiropractor with the first team medical departments, and continues to consult for Premier League players and clubs. His experience also includes major sporting events including the London 2012 Olympic Games, The Open at St Andrews, and Soccer Aid.
In addition to his work with athletes, Nick treats a broad range of patients with varying needs. Many have worked with him long term to stay active, manage pain, and maintain movement. He is particularly experienced in managing chronic low back pain and extremity conditions, including knee, ankle, and shoulder injuries.
